聚醚砜分子结构中不存在任何酯类结构的单元，聚醚砜具有出色的热性能和氧化稳定性。经UL确认聚醚砜连续使用温度为180℃，并满足UL94V-0级阻燃要求，（厚度为0.51mm）。聚醚砜耐应力开裂，不溶于极性溶剂如酮类和一些含卤碳氢化合物。耐水解，耐极大多数酸、碱、脂类碳氢化合物、醇、油及脂类。可以通过对其分子量的控制或添加各种增强材料、各种纤维，以提高聚合物的性能。该树脂满足美国FDA要求可使用于与食品接触的制件。

主要应用

电气及电子工业中：主要包括线圈骨架、接触器、开关零件、灯架基座、电池及蓄电池外罩。

汽车制造工业中：主要有照明灯的反光件，峰值温度达200℃，并且可制成铝合金反光器件。还有汽车的电器连接器、电子、电-机械控制元件、座架、窗、面罩、水泵及油泵等。
航空领域：聚醚砜对雷达射线透过率极佳，目前雷达天线罩已用其代替过去的环氧制件。

医疗卫生领域：聚醚砜制件耐水解，耐消毒溶剂。手术室照明组件离心泵外科手术器件的手柄

照明及光学领域：包括反光器、信号灯。聚醚砜制件有着色透明、对UV稳定、可长期在室外环境下使用等特性。

厨房用具：包括咖啡器、煮蛋器、微波器、热水泵等；

涂料行业：用于涂料添加助剂；
