一、性能简介:
聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)具有突出的耐热力(长期耐温180℃)、表现出良好的韧性和刚性,具有较高的硬度、很好的耐磨性、突出的电性能,使之极适合用于电气、电子绝缘件方面(即在高温下要求较高强度和刚度的各种结构性元器件方面)。聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)由于具有较好的抗水解性,使它在医疗器械和分析仪器领域得到广泛应用。它还具有优良的机械性、电绝缘性、耐辐照性、耐高温及耐磨性,并可透过微波。同时作为非结晶材料,由于熔点超高使得聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)具有良好的隔热性,故PEI型材可用于做高温300℃隔热板。

二、应用领域:
聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)具有优良的综合平衡性能,卓有成效地应用于电子、电机和航空等工业部门,并可用作传统产品和文化生活用品的金属代用材料。
在电器、电子工业部门,聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)材料制造的零部件获得了广泛的应用,包括强度高和尺寸稳定的连接件、普通和微型继电器外壳、电路板、线圈、软性电路、反射镜、高精度密光纤元件。特别引人注目的是,用它取代金属制造光纤连接器,可使元件结构最佳化,简化其制造和装配步骤,保持更精确的尺寸,从而保证最终产品的成本降低约40%。
耐冲击性板材Ultem1613用于飞机的各种零部件,如舷窗、机头部部件、座件靠背、内壁板、门覆盖层以及供乘客使用的各种物件。聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)和碳纤维组成的复合材料已经用于最新直升飞机的各种结构件。
利用其优良的机械特性、耐热特性和耐化学药品特性,PEI被用于汽车领域,如用以制造高温连接件、高功率车灯和指示灯、控制汽车舱室外部温度的传感器(空调温度传感器)和控制空气和燃料混合物温度的传感器(有效燃烧温度传感器)。此外,PEI还可用作耐高温润滑油侵蚀的真空泵叶轮、在180℃操作的蒸镏器的磨口玻璃接头(承接口)、非照明的防雾灯的反射镜。
聚醚酰亚胺泡沫塑料,用作运输机械飞机等的绝热和隔音材料。
PEI耐水解性优良,因此用作医疗外科手术器械的手柄、托盘、夹具、假肢、医用灯反射镜和牙科用具。
在食品工业中,用作产品包装和微波炉的托盘。
PEI兼具优良的高温机械性能和耐磨性,故可用于制造输水管转向阀的阀件。由于具有很高的强度、柔韧性和耐热性,PEI是优良的涂层和成膜材料,能形成适用于电子工业的涂层和薄膜,并可用于制造孔径< 0.1μm、具有高渗透性的微孔隔膜。还可用作耐高温胶粘剂和高强度纤维等。

polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous polymer offering high strength and excellent flame and heat resistance. It performs continuously to 340°F (170°C), making it ideal for high strength/ high heat applications, and those requiring consistent dielectric properties over a wide frequency range. It is hydrolysis resistant, highly resistant to acidic solutions and capable of withstanding repeated autoclaving cycles.

PEI have glass-reinforced versions (10, 20, and 30%, respectively) of resin which provide even greater rigidity and improved dimensional stability while maintaining many of the useful characteristics of basic resin PEI. Resin PEI is FDA and USP Class VI compliant. FDA compliant colors of resin PEI are also available on a custom basis.

PEI commonly is machined into parts for reusable medical devices, analytical instrumentation, electrical/electronic insulators (including many semiconductor process components) and a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures.


Proven Applications:

Structural Probes
Surgical probes machined from PEI rod are autoclavable, and offer high strength and rigidity. (Prior materials: Polysulfone)

Manifolds
In pharmaceutical process equipment, manifolds machined from PEI plate offer resistance to hot chemical solutions and daily sanitizing.

Insulators
High frequency insulators used in microwave communications equipment are machined from PEI stock shapes.

Clamps
High voltage and flame resistance of PEI make it ideal for clamps used to connect printed circuit boards to video display units used in airplanes, tanks and ships.
